Partnering with Millard Drywall to Provide Sound Absorption for San Marcos, TX ISD

Providing the best possible sound absorption from the eco-friendly products manufactured by Cardinal Acoustics is a team effort. Partnerships with subcontractors that install our panels is an important part of the process that ensures our wood fiber panels are the best available. Below you’ll read how one key partner, Millard Drywall, installed our panels for maximum sound absorption and aesthetic appeal.

An Overview of Millard Drywall

Millard Drywall is a commercial drywall subcontractor established over twenty-five years ago. They specialize in commercial metal stud, drywall, insulation, and acoustical and specialty ceilings. The company often works in the education, retail, and health-care sectors. To learn more about Millard Drywall’s experience and services, visit their website.

New Classrooms for San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District

Cardinal Acoustics collaborated with Millard Drywall on new classroom builds for a Texas high school. The school wanted to expand their existing trades building where students learn auto-body repair, construction, criminal investigation, nursing, and audio and video recording.

The additional two stories totaled more than 42,000 square feet. Because practicing some trades, such as auto-body repair, can be noisy, the school wanted to prevent sound transferring into nearby classrooms.

Collaborating for a Sound-Absorption Solution

Cardinal Acoustics provided natural color acoustical panels that were painted in the field to match the color scheme of the school. Using our one-inch Direct Attached Interior Panel, Millard Drywall face-screwed the panels into classrooms’ interior walls.

When Millard Drywall noticed that the panel face V-groove was not in the direction needed for the design, Cardinal Acoustics reacted immediately and quickly delivered new panels so the installation could continue without any project delays.

Overcoming this challenge, Millard Drywall successfully installed the wood fiber acoustical panels that absorb sounds in those high-noise classrooms. Millard Drywall’s Randall Larson endorses Cardinal Acoustics’ services and acoustical panels over our competitors’: “From my experience, the whole process—from estimate and initial pricing, through procurement, and into dealing with issues—the Cardinal team always exceeds what we get from other panel manufacturers.”

Thanks to our commitment to excellent customer service, sustainable sourcing, world-class sound testing, and collaborative partnerships, Cardinal Acoustics’ products exceed. Working with companies such as Millard Drywall allows us to fulfill clients’ sound-absorption needs and provide great support for them.
